“Neerja” movie released in this year not only won many awards but also stole the hearts of movie fans. “Sonam Kapoor” who played the lead role in this movie showed the life of a 22-years old Neerja. She was awarded the “FILMFARE” Best Actress Award 2016 for this film. Sonam Kapoor who made her debut with “Saawariya” in 2007 had a successful career till now and became one of the highest-paid actresses. Recently, she raised her voice against the child sexual abuse.
Recently in a chat show with Rajeev Masand, along with her peers Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Vidya Balan and Radhika Apte she revealed her bitter life experience during her childhood.
“I was going to watch a Raveena Tandon-Akshay Kumar film to Gaiety theater. I was with my girl friends; we were 14. We had gone outside to get samosas and I was last while coming back, being the tallest.
“And a man came from behind and held my breasts. I started shaking and shivering, not knowing what was going on. I was crying but I sat and finished the film. I just felt I had done something wrong. I didn’t talk about it for a good two years. I know a lot many people who’ve gone through stuff like these,” she said.
Sonam Kapoor, despite being a celebrity had passed through such a dim light in her life. She deserves Kudos for speaking bravely about such an experience in a show. Wishing her the success and expecting “Neerja” to sweep the awards of 2016.
